Future of Subvention Programmes/Subsidiary Schemes in Nature Conservation

In addition to nature conservation and landscape management subvention programmes/subsidiary schemes funded or co-funded by the European Community

In addition to nature conservation and landscape management subvention programmes/subsidiary schemes funded or co-funded by the European Community (EC), there also are such national subvention programmes/subsidiary schemes in the Czech Republic. The Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection Section at the Ministry of the Environment in the Czech Republic has prepared, in collaboration with the Agency for Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection of the Czech Republic, a document aiming at improvement and optimising the above programmes and schemes. The aim of the process is to provide priority nature conservation and landscape protection requirements with national financial resources, which cannot be funded from the EC budget, to reduce funding actions and projects from national sources which vice versa can be financially supported from the EC funds and to make the range of possible funding opportunities for applicants more user-friendly. Furthermore, the article presents summarized information on the current subvention programmes/subsidiary schemes and possibilities to receive finances both from the EC and national funds. The supplement to this issue of the journal assesses in details the particular subvention programmes.
