Within the OPE, the ANCLP CR has applied for funds to be spent for the conservation measures, amounting 650 million CZK (26.3 million euros) and is going to apply for other projects, totalling 515 million CZK (20.9 million euros).

The Agency for Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection of the Czech Republic (ANCLP CR) implements nature conservation and landscape protection measures i.a.through European Communitys funds, particularly through the Operational Programme “Environment” (OPE). Within the OPE, the ANCLP CR has applied for funds to be spent for the conservation measures, amounting 650 million CZK (26.3 million euros) and is going to apply for other projects, totalling 515 million CZK (20.9 million euros). The measures prepared or having been under preparation are quite various, they include those on fishponds and other conservation interventions in Specially Protected Areas, building and improving the visitor infrastructure, measures aiming at monitoring and mapping the target species and Natura 2000 sites and activities dealing with communication, education and general public awareness.

Most projects submitted by ANCLP CRs for funding from the OPE in 2008 have been under implementation. Among them, The Černý potok/Black Brook Restoration in the Černá louka Nature Reserve, Božídarské rašeliniště Peat-Bog National Nature Monument Restoration – the 1stphase, Surveying Underground Water Resources in the Litovelské Pomoraví/Litovel Morava River Basin Protected Landscape Area and Implementing the Natura 2000 Network in Areas Managed by the ANCLP CR should be mentioned. Other projects have been under preparation or call for tenders have been launched.

Measures on fishponds in Specially Protected Areas (dike and other infrastructure restoration, removal of mud, improving the littoral growths) will be implemented e.g. in the Smědá River Meanders Nature Reserve, Luňáky Nature Reserve, Lednice Fishponds National Nature Reserve and fishponds in the Robečský potok Brook Basin, i.e.the Břehyně, Máchovo jezero and Novozámecký rybník Fishponds. Building and improving the visitor infrastructure will aim at visitor centres and educational trails, e.g. Železné hory/Iron Mts. – an Important Geological Area or Mt. Luž Educational Path and Information Point projects.

Non-building projects that will be carried out by the ANCLP are e.g. those on standard measures in Specially Protected Areas pursuant to their management plans, the Giant Hogweed (Heracleum mantegazzianum) eradication in the Český les Protected Landscape Area or those on monitoring and conservation planning tools (drafting Outlines of recommended measures for Special Protected Areas under the Birds Directive, updating components of the Territorial System of Ecological Stability of the Landscape, the multilevel national ecological network, etc).
