Using funds from the Operational Programme „Environment“: Some advice on How-to

Based on his own experience with the Operational Programme “Environment” (OPE), the author easily, digestedly and humorously instructs how to find one’s feet in a welter of confused rules, regulations and requirements, when preparing application for a subsidy from the Programme. At the Meluzína/The Wailing Wind Ecological Centre – Brontosaurus Movement Regional Centre, he has participated in two projects, submitted during the 6th OPE Call. Although both were located in the North Bohemian landscape approx. 40 km away from each other, developing their documentation and consequent difficulties substantially differ. The article summarizes experience from both the projects. The author’s experience which is recommended to be followed by other applicants can be simply resumed as follows: (1) capability to carefully read dull texts and to fully get at totally exact, but totally unclear formulations, (2) boundless patience and flexibility, (3) plenty of time and some money, better more than less, (4) creative thinking and positive world view, (5) a car, a cellular phone and good software, hardware respectively.
