The Agency for Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection of the Czech Republicwas charged by the Ministry of the Environment of the Czech Republic with developing guidelines on streamlining the setting derogations related to the Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea).
The derogations can be issued according to Article 5 of Act No. 114/1992 Gazette on Protection of Nature and the Landscape, as amended later, only where there is no other satisfactory solution, in order to prevent serious damage to fisheries or with the purpose of wild fauna protection. The guidelines aims at highlighting possible difficulties related to the above process, e.g. the legislative framework, quantifying the serious damage and limitation in current knowledge of the Grey Heron bionomics.
